Twinsies?!?

We get very few questions about our family and adoption. I think because we live in a small town, noone wants to offend by asking directly, so they just ask other people. Or maybe they just aren't quite sure what to make of us, so don't really know what to ask. Or maybe I have got my stand-offish glare down, so everyone is afraid. Or maybe they realize Sam is old enough now to understand what they are saying. Whatever it is, I kinda like not being asked so much.

But I do get asked ALL THE TIME if they are twins! Really? Sam has a good foot or more on Solomon. And other than the fact they both have brown skin (but different shades), they really don't look that much alike.

Twins?...nope....but are they REAL brothers...to which I answer "yes"!

  1. People ask that about our boys all the time, too. Come to think of it, they used to ask about our foster boys, too--they're 4 years apart!!! Our boys are 16 months apart and look NOTHING alike. I think people just feel like they have to say something. I don't get it. My kids are white and are clearly not the same size, shape or developmental level. LOVE that you say they are real brothers, cuz they so are.

  2. baaahaaaa. that cracks me up. I got asked once if Teg and my translucent crystalline white nephew were twins. I completely spit laugh in their face and walked off.
